Anyone having to make decisions or solve problems
Group Size: Up to 18 participants

The Need
Many problems go unsolved and important decisions are delayed. This is not caused by a lack of competent employees, but rather by the lack of a logical, systematic problem-solving process. In addition, today's organizations require more creative solutions than ever before. Delayed decisions, unsolved problems, or uncreative solutions often lead to reactive crisis management, unnecessary interactions, and strained employee relationships.

Objectives
 • To learn how to systematically reason through problems or decisions,
    resulting in viable alternatives
 • To improve leadership and followership skills
 • To justify solutions through an objective criteria- matrix process
 • To practice decision-making skills on job-related events

Program Content
 • Reflective Thinking Process: A five-step process designed to systematically
   and logically work through decisions
 • Identifying problems and sub-problems: Focusing the effort for better results
 • Framing problem questions for appropriate responses
 • Analyzing A, B, & C type problems
 • Establishing criteria for quality solutions
 • Brainstorming techniques: A method for soliciting quality alternatives
 • Quantifying the rationale for solution discrimination
 • Selecting appropriate methodologies to solve problems
 • Leadership and followership
 • Packaging the final recommendations for approval
 • Adapting problem-solving methods to group or individual efforts
 • Action planning
